Humanitarians of Florida, Inc.  Special People Helping Animals

WHO ARE WE? WE ARE . . .

. . . an all-volunteer non-profit, 501(c)(3), humane organization dedicated to relieving the suffering of animals. We do this primarily through direct help programs. Our members work entirely without salary. Our first priority is to help animals in Citrus County, and maintain our programs. However, there are many rural areas in Florida which have little or no help for animals. We are chartered to go into those areas and do so when our funds permit.

OUR CREED

OUR MISSION

"We patronize them for their incompleteness, their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves.  And therein we err, and greatly err.  For the animal shall not be measured by man; in a world older and more complex than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations caught with ourselves in the net of time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth"
                          By Harry Beston

Every companion animal that is born has the assurance of being wanted and/or needed. No companion animal is ever killed because there are more animals than there are homes or jobs for them to enjoy.

Every animal is wanted or needed.
